Āditya Hṛdayam – LIVE course

Introduction

This intensive Āditya Hṛdayam course offers 7 live classes (1hr each) + 7 practice days (20 min each)

Āditya Hṛdayam is a powerful hymn to the Sun, revealed by Sage Agastya to Lord Rāma on the battlefield during the climactic moment of the Yuddha Kāṇḍa of the Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa. Exhausted and momentarily weighed down by the intensity of the battle with the demon king Rāvaṇa, Rāma receives this sacred teaching as a source of renewed strength and clarity.

The hymn praises the Sun as the visible embodiment of the divine principle that sustains all life. Through a series of evocative names and descriptions, the Sun is revealed as the source of energy, light, intelligence, and order in the universe. The practice of reciting this hymn is traditionally understood to dispel fear, sorrow, and inner obstacles, while invoking vitality, courage, and clarity.

In spirit and intention, the Āditya Hṛdayam shares an affinity with the Gāyatrī Mantra. Both hymns direct our attention toward the light that illumines our intellect and guides our actions. Through contemplation of the Sun as the universal source of brilliance (tejas), the practitioner is encouraged to rise above confusion and meet life’s challenges with steadiness and insight.
