Meaning of Mantras – Mahāmṛtyuñjaya
The Mahāmṛtyuñjaya mantra is one of the most sacred and widely practiced mantras of the Veda. Known for its healing and protective power, it is often invoked in times of transition, illness, or uncertainty. In this workshop, we will look beyond its familiar recitation to uncover the layers of meaning and wisdom it holds—why the sages cherished it, and how its teachings can continue to guide and support us today.
Introduction
In this workshop, we explore the Mahāmṛtyuñjaya mantra through its original Vedic lens. We begin with its source in the Ṛgveda, the role of Rudra as healer and nourisher, and the mantra’s place within the powerful Śrī Rudram. Frequently asked Questions
I have completed the Foundation course - is this an overlap from that program?
Some part of this workshop is taught in the Foundation course. But this entire workshop has never been taught previously. There is no chanting practice – only theory.
I have absolutely no chanting background, will I still be able to follow this workshop?
Yes, this is an entirely theoretical approach to the mantra and not the practice of it. Therefore, anyone can benefit from the contents of this workshop.
Is there any interaction with the teacher in this course?
No, it is entirely self-paced. It was taught to a live audience in December 2025.
