Introduction

With the grace of Śiva, I’m happy to offer this very special practice of chanting the Rudram as a krama-pāṭhaḥ. This is one of the many way the Ṛṣi-s of Vedic times devised as an error correction methods to preserve the Veda. It is also considered a special worship to Lord Rudra-Śiva. We recite the entire text two words at a time together, adapting the svara-s and grammar appropriately. A phonetic guide for such a recitation is not possible and the learning process will be very humble, just listen and repeat with the text available in English transliteration and Devanāgari.

Category:

The course is based on my study with my Guru Śrī M.S. Sreenivasan of The Challakere Brothers. The program is only available to those who have completed study of both Rudrapraśnaḥ & Camakapraśnaḥ with Shantala. I am unable to accept students who may have studied Rudram in other traditions.

Frequently asked questions

1. I have completed the Chanting Teacher training OR I am enrolled in the 2024 Chanting teacher training – should I be taking this course as well?

This program is only available to those who have already studied Namakam & Camakam with Shantala before. If you are able to combine this with your teacher study program, you are most welcome to join. This course is for personal development only, not authorisation to teach.

2. I have bought the self-paced Rudram bundle – is this content the same or different?

This is an entirely different course.

3. I have absolutely no chanting background, will I still be able to follow this course?

It is not possible to do this course without having completed Foundation course, at least 2 Sūktam-s, Rudrapraśnaḥ and Camakapraśnaḥ. Please expect to be studying for at least 2 years before this course.

4. Are there any scholarships or discounts offered on this course?

For this course, we are unable to offer scholarships/discounts but we are offering instalment plans.

5. Can I follow this course through recordings as I’m unable to be there during this time (or time-zone inconvenient)?

Yes, absolutely, you can follow the course through recordings. It is advisable to keep up with the recordings and not allow them to pile up! You can always revisit the recordings for a more thorough watch. Please note – there is no homework in this course!

It is not feasible to accept recordings for this course due to the nature of the practice. Your progress can be measured in two ways:
